Take a look at Some of the Projects we've been working on
Rhode Island Green Building Act Study
The Energy Efficiency Group (TEEG) has been contracted by the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources (OER) to perform a study of the Rhode Island Green Building Act. TEEG will provide OER and the Rhode Island Green Building Advisory Council with a report that identifies green building program best practices in comparable jurisdictions, assesses awareness of the Act within Rhode Island public agencies, clarifies application of the Act, provides considerations for amending the act including cost-benefit analysis, makes recommendations for implementation of the Act, and incorporates stakeholder engagement and public participation.
Rhode Island Lead By Example Program
Through a partnership with National Grid and Rhode Island Energy, The Energy Efficiency Group has supported The State of Rhode Island’s Office of Energy Resources (OER) in their Lead By Example program since 2018. OER was tasked, through the Lead By Example program, “to oversee and coordinate efforts at State agencies to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.” As consultants for National Grid and Rhode Island Energy, The Energy Efficiency Group (TEEG) has implemented energy audits, developed and prepared State bid documents, provided technical expertise, and performed pre- and post-inspections in support of dozens of energy efficiency projects for OER. These projects have saved the State of Rhode Island millions of dollars in energy costs, and reduced greenhouse gases to help OER lead the way towards achieving reduction mandates established in the Rhode Island 2021 Act on Climate. Through process improvements, TEEG has helped to make vendor bids for installation of these projects substantially more competitive, saving Rhode Island taxpayers over a million dollars in project installation costs. TEEG has also provided energy efficiency project management services directly to the Rhode Island OER for many projects.
Some examples of these projects include:
The University of Rhode Island Feinstein Providence Campus installed 2,500 lighting fixtures with integrated controls, reducing the facility’s annual energy costs by $59,000/year: Rhode Island Energy URI Feinstein Campus
Many TEEG projects have won Lead By Example Clean Energy Awards, including projects for the Rhode Island Army National Guard and the Rhode Island Department of Corrections in 2022.
With an estimated 1.55 year simple payback for their lighting project, Teamworks Revere will save an estimated $10,000+ per year on their electric bill with their new LED lights in addition to more than tripling the light output at field level.
